A Professional manufacturer of digital printing material and display products
As UV printers are getting more and more attention, the UV inks equipped with UV printers have become a focus of attention. UV inks not only affect the effect of UV printing, but also affect the operation of UV printers. In this article, I want to share with you the difference between UV ink and Eco-solvent ink and the advantages of UV ink.
UV ink: UV ink is a kind of ink that does not require solvents, has fast curing speed, high gloss, bright colors, water resistance, ink resistance, and solvent resistance. With the wide application of UV printers, UV inks have also been widely used because of their advantages , So far it has become a relatively mature ink technology.
Eco-solvent ink: also known as environmentally friendly solvent ink, it developed earlier than UV ink. Before UV ink appeared, it had a greater advantage in the ink market. It has the characteristics of safety, low volatility, and low toxicity. , Mainly used for outdoor inkjet.
The differences between them are as follows:
1. Different curing principles
UV inks can be dried and cured immediately when UV printers are irradiated by UV lamps. This is a major advantage of UV inks in the printing industry. UV printers can achieve instant printing and instant drying effects during printing, so UV Ink is widely used in the market.
The drying process of Eco-solvent ink is a bit more troublesome than that of UV printers. Products printed with Eco-solvent ink need to be baked at high temperature to dry and solidify the surface of the product, and the ink curing process is slower. Therefore, UV ink has a greater advantage in curing.
2. Printing effect
Due to its inherent characteristics, UV ink can be used together with white ink to enable UV printers to print relief effects. The relief effect printed by the UV flatbed printer gives people a special visual 3D effect, which is favored by businesses in the industry, and this is also a major advantage of UV ink. At the same time, UV ink is suitable for printing many materials, and it is simple, convenient and practical in coating processing.
Eco-solvent ink cannot be used with white ink due to its own defects. Therefore, the embossing effect cannot be printed with Eco-solvent ink. Many materials need to be coated during printing. Products printed without coating are very It is easy to fade, which is a shortcoming of Eco-solvent ink.
3. Structure
From the structural point of view, the biggest difference between UV ink and Eco-solvent ink is that UV ink contains little or no volatile solvent, while Eco-solvent ink contains about 50% solvent.
From the solvent content, it can be seen that UV ink is an environmentally friendly ink, suitable for the modern era, and has low environmental pollution.
